Altamont Gardens

The gardens at Altamont, located near Tullow in Co. Carlow. This estate was left to the state by its owner Corona North some years ago. She died in 1999.
The grounds are maintained by the Office of Public Works. The river Slaney runs by the grounds and you may see Salmon and Trout rising and perhaps even catch sight of an Otter.
The gardens are really worth a visit and considered one of the nicest in the country.
