Co. Mayo

We came across this view on a walk in Mayo. We were walking on what used to be a railway line. That train brought visitors and locals to Achill Island. The old line has been surfaced to make it suitable for both walkers and cyclists and it is known as The Great Western Greenway. Since it opened last year it has attracted many visitors and is a great boost for the tourist industry.

  1. I've had a look at the Great Western Greenway web page. We were planning to ride a cycling route down the Swiss part of the Rhine river next summer. But I will mark this one down for the following one, may be!
    Thanks for the tip.
